There is no sound from the audio system when connected via eARC.

    IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.

    If you are watching images that use audio codecs such as DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD, sound may not be output when the TV and audio system are connected via eARC. In such cases, check the following.

    • Check that the TV and audio system are connected using an HDMI cable with Ethernet.
    • Set the TV's eARC setting to Auto.
      1. Open the Settings screen.
      2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Display and soundAudio outputAudio system settingseARC settingAuto.
        • Select Display & SoundAudio outputeARC modeAuto.
        • Select SoundeARC modeAuto.
    • Set the TV's speaker output setting to Audio system.
      1. Open the Settings screen.
      2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Display & SoundAudio outputSpeakersAudio system.
        • Select SoundSpeakersAudio system.
    • Check that the audio system supports eARC. Also, check the eARC settings of the audio system. For details, refer to the manual of the audio system.
    • Check that the external devices connected to the TV's HDMI terminals support output from audio codecs such as DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD.
    • The TV does not support DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD from USB files, video streaming services, and broadcasts.

    Note: Depending on the specifications of the audio system, there may be no sound because it does not support some audio codecs.
