When I connect the 4K Ultra HD BRAVIA TV to the PlayStation 4 Pro, 4K HDR is not recognized on Video Output Settings.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.

    • I cannot select 2160p-RGB on Resolution of the PlayStation 4 Pro.
    • Only 2K supported is displayed for HDR on Your TV in Video Output Information of the PlayStation 4 Pro.

If you have any of these issues, check the following.

    1. Check the HDMI cable used for connecting the BRAVIA TV and the PlayStation 4 Pro.
Check if the cable is the HDMI cable supplied with the PlayStation 4 Pro or the Premium high speed HDMI cable which supports 18 Gbps.

    2. Confirm that an HDMI terminal on the BRAVIA TV supports HDR.
Depending on the model, only some HDMI terminals may support HDR. For details, refer to the following Q&A.

    3. Set HDMI signal format to Enhanced format on the BRAVIA TV.

      1. Open the Settings screen.
      2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
        • Select Channels & Inputs — External inputs — HDMI signal format/VRR.
        • Select Channels & Inputs — External inputs — HDMI signal format.
        • Select Watching TVExternal inputsHDMI signal format.
        • Select External inputsHDMI signal format.
      3. Set to Enhanced format.
NOTE for Z9K and Z9J series: Only for HDMI IN 4 terminal, set to Enhanced format (4K120, 8K).
    4. Set the HDR to Automatic on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
      1. Press the PS button on the controller of the PlayStation 4 Pro to display the HOME screen.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Sound and Screen.
      4. Select Video Output Settings.
      5. Set HDR to Automatic.

If there is no problem in the steps so far, the PlayStation 4 Pro can output the HDR signal to the BRAVIA TV, but the settings of the PlayStation 4 Pro cannot be correctly reflected to the BRAVIA TV.
