How to pair or re-pair your wireless or Voice command remote control to your Google TV™ or Android TV™
If you are experiencing issues when using a wireless remote control, or when using the (MIC) button/voice command function on your Voice command remote control, follow these steps to unpair and then re-pair the remote control, or perform the remote control pairing:
Notes:
- After you replace your voice command remote control, the remote must be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
- After updating your TV, the remote may need to be paired again in order to have voice search functionality.
For Google TV or Android TV released in 2016 or later
If you are using this type of remote control, follow these steps:
- Unpair the Voice command remote control from the TV:
Note: If your TV is listed below, skip this step.

- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Remotes & Accessories — Bluetooth Settings.
- Select Remotes & Accessories.
- Select Bluetooth settings.
- Check if the device information (ex: SONY TV RC MIC 001) of the remote control is displayed.
- If the device information of the remote control is not displayed, check step 2 below.
- If the device information of the remote control is displayed, use the following procedure to unpair.
- Select the device information of the remote control.
- Select Unpair.
- Select OK.
- Pair or re-pair the Voice command remote control to the TV:
Note: If the Remote Control is registered to a different TV, turn that TV off and then follow the steps below to reregister your Remote Control to the desired TV.- Open the Settings screen. How to access Settings
- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Remotes & Accessories — Remote control — Activate the MIC button or Connect via Bluetooth.
- Select Voice Remote Control or Remote control — Activate (MIC) button or Connect via Bluetooth.
- Select BRAVIA Settings — Voice Remote Control.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Notes:- When the activation is complete, a light on the remote control will blink.
- Pairing can fail if the battery level is too low. If this is the case, replace the batteries with new ones before attempting to pair again.
For Android TV released in 2015
If you are using this type of remote control, follow the steps below:
- Unpair the Voice command remote control (Touchpad Remote Control) from the TV:
- Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Select Bluetooth setting in the Network & Accessories category.
- Select Device list.
- Select SONY TV REMOTE 001.
- Select Unpair.
- Select OK.
- Pair or re-pair the Voice command remote control (Touchpad Remote Control) to the TV:
- Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
- Select Settings.
- Select Touchpad Remote Control settings in the Network & Accessories category.
- Select Pair Touchpad Remote Control.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
