A remote control software update notification appears on the TV screen.

Even if you select Close to close the update notification, the message appears again when you restart the TV. To improve the stability of the remote control, we recommend you update the remote control software.

Note for 2019 and 2020 Android TV™ models (except for X90H and KM-X9000H series): After updating the TV software to version 6.4960, a remote control software update notification may appear.

• Q1: A remote control software update notification appears. Nothing happens after updating the remote control software.
• Q2: The remote control software update fails.
• Q3: I closed the remote control software update notification. Can I still update the software?

A1: This update improves the stability of the remote control. After updating the software, you will now be able to see a message when the battery power level gets low.

• If you would like to update the remote control software:

  Press Update now. During the update, keep the remote control near the TV and do not remove the batteries or start charging the battery. The software update will take a few minutes.

• If you do not want to update the remote control software now:

  Press Close. You can update the software later by following the steps in A3.

A2: Press Try again. During the update, keep the remote control near the TV and do not remove the batteries or plug a USB cable into the remote.

• If the update still fails:

  Replace the remote control batteries with new ones, or charge the batteries first and try the update again.

• If the update fails even after changing the batteries or charging the battery:

  Press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds to restart the TV, then try the update again.

  Note: If the Restart option appears on your TV screen, select it.

Q3: I closed the remote control software update notification. Can I still update the software?

A3: Yes, you can. Follow this procedure to update the TV remote control software:

1. Open the Settings screen. How to access the Settings
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings.
2. Select Remotes & Accessories → Remote control → Software update → Update.
