Watch YouTube on TV with a TV code

You can link your mobile device to your TV using a code. After linking your device, you can watch YouTube on your TV when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi.

Find the code

1. Launch the YouTube app on your TV.
2. Go to Settings .
   
3. Scroll to Link with TV code. A blue TV code will show on your TV.
   
4. Have your phone or tablet ready and continue with the steps in the "Enter the code" section below.

Note: The TV code should be made of numbers. If the code is made of letters, repeat the steps above to get a numeric code.

Enter the code

1. On your phone or tablet, open the YouTube app.
2. Select your profile picture  and select Settings.
3. Select Watch on TV.
4. Select Enter TV Code and enter the blue TV code shown on your TV.
   

Remove devices linked with a code

You can remove any linked devices by following the steps below. Remember, once a device is removed, you’ll need to use a new code if you ever want to link the device again.

Unlink using your Smart TV or streaming device

1. On your Smart TV or streaming device, open the YouTube app.
2. Go to Settings .
3. Select Linked devices.
4. Select Unlink all devices to unlink all devices at once.

Unlink using your phone or tablet

1. On your phone or tablet, open the YouTube app.
2. Select your profile picture .
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Watch on TV.
5. Select Delete Devices.
6. Select DELETE to remove the linked Smart TV or streaming device.
