This page introduces how to connect BRAVIA and iPhone with HDMI cable and display the screen on BRAVIA.
IMPORTANT:
- BRAVIA does not come with a conversion "cable" or "adapter" for wired connection to a smartphone (we do not sell Sony cables or adapters).
- The content on this page provides general connection methods. Connection with BRAVIA is not guaranteed.
- Recent iPhones (as of April 2023) do not have a port for plugging in an HDMI cable, so a separate HDMI conversion adapter is required.
Prepare an HDMI conversion adapter that matches the iPhone charging port's (Lightning port) shape. - If you have any questions about purchasing an adapter, please consult your local electronics store for the type of adapter that suits your purpose.

Connect a smartphone running Android™ OS to the BRAVIA via cable
- HDMI cable
- Lightning - HDMI conversion adapter (manufactured by Apple, etc.)
* If you have a Lightning to HDMI cable (adapter and cable are integrated), you do not need an HDMI cable.
Note: Depending on the adapter you purchased, some types require a separate USB power supply in addition to the HDMI connection.
If it is not included with the adapter, you will need an AC adapter with an appropriate standard and a USB terminal separately, so please check carefully when purchasing.
In addition, Apple's genuine adapter can be connected to a TV with only an HDMI cable without a power supply.

Connect the Lightning to HDMI conversion adapter to the iPhone's Lightning port.

Connect the HDMI conversion adapter and the HDMI cable, and connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI input terminal on the back of the BRAVIA

Turn on the power of the BRAVIA and the iPhone, press the "input selection" button on the BRAVIA remote control, and switch to the connected HDMI terminal.
* For this example, HDMI3 is selected as the smartphone is connected to HDMI input 3.

Your iPhone screen will be displayed on your TV. You can display photos and videos in albums and app screens by operating your smartphone.
Note:
- If the smartphone app that is displaying the image/audio output to an external device such as a TV or display is restricted, the image may not be displayed properly. (Example: Even if you play a video, it becomes a black screen, there is no sound, etc.).
- Depending on the photos and apps, you can display them in landscape mode.
- Audio is now output from the BRAVIA instead of the smartphone, and the volume can be adjusted with the BRAVIA remote control. If you remove the HDMI cable or switch the input to another HDMI terminal, etc., the sound will be returned to the smartphone.
