If your Android or Google TV isn't working properly, the issue may be caused by certain downloaded applications. Turning on Safe mode disables all downloaded applications and allows you to check if the TV is operating normally.
If the TV works as normal when Safe mode is turned On, consider uninstalling any recently downloaded applications as they may not be compatible with your TV.
- To enter Safe mode, follow these steps:
-
- On the TV remote control, press and hold the POWER button until a Power off message appears. This will restart the TV.
Note: For notes and details when restarting, refer to the article How to restart (reset) a Google TV or Android TV?
- Once the reboot starts, press and hold the Volume down (–) button on the remote control while the SONY logo is displayed on the screen.
Note: The words Safe mode will appear on the left bottom corner of the screen.
- On the TV remote control, press and hold the POWER button until a Power off message appears. This will restart the TV.
- To exit from Safe mode, perform Step 1 again.
