How to connect the BRAVIA TV to a network using a wired connection

    Why use a wired connection?

    A wired connection ensures a stable connection. That way you can enjoy streaming high capacity 4K image data from network services such as YouTube™.

    1. Setting up a wired connection

    Connect an Ethernet cable from the router to the Local Area Network (LAN) jack on the back of the product.

    Available open LAN port on the wired or wireless LAN Routers and Modems

    • A: Wired or wireless LAN Router or Modem equipped with Router functions
    • B: BRAVIA TV

    If there is no open LAN port on the router, you will need a hub device to connect the BRAVIA TV to your modem. Contact an Internet service provider or manufacturer if you're unsure about the specifications.

    Use a hub device if no open LAN port on the wired or wireless Modem

    • A: Wired or wireless Modem equipped with Router functions
    • B: Hub
    • C: BRAVIA TV

    2. Adjusting your settings

    For Google TV™ or Android TV™ models released in 2020 or later

    The Internet connection will be established automatically, and settings of the TV is not required.

    Note: Depending on the router, it may not be connected to the internet automatically. In this case, settings such as proxy may be required.

    For Android TV models released in and before 2019

    1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Select  Settings.
    3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Network & InternetEasy setupWired LAN. (Android™ 9)
      • Select NetworkNetwork setupEasyWired LAN. (Android 8.0 or earlier)
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

    For other than Android TV models

    The following is an example of the 2014 model. For details, refer to the manual supplied with the product.

    1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Network.
    4. Select Network setup.
    5. Select Set up network connection or Wired Setup.
    6. Select Easy or Auto and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
