The Sound Field Optimization procedure fails. (BRAVIA Theatre Quad, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8)
If the Sound Field Optimization procedure fails, check the following depending on your situation:
When the Sound Field Optimization procedure fails during the speaker position measurement:
- The speakers may not be correctly placed. Check the installation location labels on the bottom of each of the four speakers and make sure to install them in the correct locations.
- Be sure to install each speaker in an upright position so that the labels on the bottom of the speakers are directed downwards.
- Check the way the speaker is installed:
- If a speaker is installed sideways, the Sound Field Optimization procedure cannot be performed properly.
- If a speaker is installed at an incline, the speaker measurement microphone is also inclined and the sound measurement for the ceiling distance is output at that incline, which can cause the Sound Field Optimization procedure to fail.
- Perform the Sound Field Optimization procedure again while making sure the surroundings are quiet.
- Check the distance between the speakers:
- Install the speakers at a distance of at least 50 cm (19 3/4 in). If the distance between speakers is too close, the Sound Field Optimization procedure cannot be performed properly.
- If the speakers are installed too far away from each other, move the speakers closer.
- If the speakers or the microphone for measurement of the speaker is blocked by an obstacle, the Sound Field Optimization procedure cannot be performed properly. Remove any obstacles between or in front of the speakers.
When the Sound Field Optimization procedure fails when using a microphone on a mobile device:
- Do not cover the microphone with anything
- Perform the Sound Field Optimization procedure again because something may have temporarily gone wrong.
- If there is an obstacle between the speakers and the microphone or the speaker is blocked by an obstacle, the Sound Field Optimization procedure cannot be performed properly. Remove any obstacles between or in front of the speakers.
- Perform the Sound Field Optimization procedure again while you are inside the perimeter of the four speakers.
- Measurements are more accurate when there are no reflective or echoing objects. Avoid holding the mobile device on or over a table or, if there are curtains, close them before performing the Sound Field Optimization procedure.
- While there are limits to measurement accuracy using a mobile device, optimal corrections will be performed based on the information obtained to provide the best stereophonic sound possible with the device.
Note: If the measurement accuracy is limited, the Viewing Position cannot be performed from the remote control screen of the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app. - If you own a BRAVIA TV and you want to use the Acoustic Center Sync feature, turn on the TV while performing the Sound Field Optimization procedure.
