This update uses the INZONE Hub PC application. Visit the INZONE Hub page for details on installing the INZONE Hub application on your computer. Also, please refer to this page for instructions on how to update your INZONE Buds (WF-G700N).

  • Now supports the Sony | Headphones Connect app
    Notes:
    • In order to use the Sony | Headphones Connect app, you may be required to delete the Bluetooth pairing information on the smartphone, then perform the pairing again after updating to the latest firmware version.
    • The Sony | Headphones Connect app only supports a Low Energy (LE) Audio connection. It does not support connections made using a USB transceiver or conventional Bluetooth methods such as Classic Audio.
    • Firmware updates for your INZONE headset will continue to be available ONLY from the INZONE Hub application installed on your computer.

Preparation

Check the firmware version

If the firmware is version 02.000.002, you do not need to perform the update. If you're not sure, it's easy to check which firmware version you have:

  1. Launch the INZONE Hub application.
  2. Connect your headphones to the INZONE Hub application.
  3. Click on Device Settings.
    Device Settings are the second row from the top.
    Note: The device name displayed on the screen depends on the connected device.
  4. Confirm the firmware version.
    From the top, the Headset: L, Headset: R, and USB Transceiver versions are displayed.

Important Notice

  • After the update begins, do not perform any of the following actions until the process is complete:
    • Unplug the USB transceiver from the computer
    • Turn off the headset
    • Reset the headset hardware
    • Exit the INZONE Hub application
    • Turn off the computer
  • If you perform any of the actions above, you may not be able to use the INZONE headset.
  • Do not perform the update in a location where the Wi-Fi signal is inconsistent or can become congested, or near objects such as a microwave, cordless phone, or any other devices that use the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band.
  • The headset must have at least 50% battery power or be connected to a power source. If the headset is connected to a laptop, the update should be performed while the laptop is connected to a power source.
  • The computer should not be allowed to go into Sleep or Hibernation mode during the update.

Download & Install

Before you upgrade

  • After updating, you cannot return to an earlier firmware version.
  • The update process will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The file size is about 3.80 MB.
  • The headset will be unavailable for use during the update.
  • If a power cable is connected, do not disconnect it during the process.

Step 1: Install the update

  1. Plug the USB transceiver into the computer.
  2. Turn on the headset and connect it to the computer via Bluetooth.
  3. Launch the INZONE Hub application.
    Notes:
    • If you have never launched the INZONE Hub application before, you will see both a Privacy Policy confirmation screen and a Privacy Settings screen.
    • If the INZONE Hub application was launched before the headset was activated:
      1. Right-click the application icon displayed in the task tray.
      2. Select Quit to exit.
      3. Restart the application.
    • If the installed INZONE Hub application is not up-to-date, a red circle will appear on the gear icon in the lower left corner.
      1. Click on the gear icon to go to the settings screen.
      2. Click Update to update the INZONE Hub application.
      The gear icon is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
  4. If an update is applicable, a red circle will appear on Device Settings.
    Device Settings are the second row from the top.
  5. Select Device Settings, then press the Update button on the System Software Information screen.
    The Update button is located at the bottom left of the screen.
  6. A confirmation screen for the update will appear. After confirming the details, click the Update Now button to start the update. Once the update begins, the headset will not be available until the process is complete.
  7. When the update starts, you will see a System Software Update screen.
    • Please wait until the update is complete before using the headset.
    • The system software update may take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
  8. When the software update is complete, press OK.

Step 2: Check that the update was successful

Confirm the update details by following the Check the firmware version section of this document. If both VERSION (Headset) and VERSION (USB Transceiver) are indicated as 02.000.002, the update was successful.

What should I do if an update error message appears?

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Press OK on the error message screen.
    Example of an error message:
    Update failed. Check the connection and try again.
  2. The INZONE Hub application will display a screen with the following message: The update is not complete. Press Update to perform the update again.
