White, Purple lines, or image is covered with a reddish tint appear on the LCD Screen

This phenomenon, called smear, may occur when the image contains a very bright subject, such as the sun, spotlight, or a reflected light source. This is specific to the CCD, and is not a malfunction.
Generally this does not affect the recorded images. However, movies or panoramic images sometimes may be affected. It is recommended not to directly shoot at a strong light source such as the sun.
