How to create a firmware upgrade CD using Windows Operating System?

    Create a firmware upgrade CD using Windows Operating System.
    Note:
    • Please download the latest firmware from this support site before proceeding to below instructions.
    • Filenames differ depending on the downloaded file.

    Select your operating system to learn how to create an upgrade CD:

    For Windows® XP 

    1. Extract downloaded zip file.
      Note: Filename are different depending on the model.

    2. Insert new CD-R into the CD drive of the computer.
    3. A pop up window is displayed when CD-R is detected by the computer.

    4. Click Open writable CD folder using Windows Explorer.
      Note: Correct upgrade CD may not be created when CD is written by the enhancing partition of ISO 9660 specification including general writing software.
    5. Drag the two files (MSB0X-FW.BIN, MSB0X-FW.ID) and drop them into the folder of the CD Drive at step 4.

    6. Click Write these files to CD option located on the left toolbar of the screen.
    7. Create the CD according to the on screen displayed message.
    8. The CD writing completes in about several minutes, after which the CD is ejected from the CD drive.

    For Windows® Vista

    1. Extract downloaded zip file.
      Note: Filename are different depending on the model.

    2. Insert new CD-R into the CD drive of the computer.
    3. A pop up window is displayed when CD-R is detected by the computer.

    4. Click Burn files to disc
    5. Click Show formatting options.

    6. Select Mastered – Readable on all computers and some CD/DVD players.

      Note: When you select ”Live File System”, the upgrade CD does not work.
      Note: Correct upgrade CD may not be created when CD-R is written by the enhancing partition of ISO 9660 specification including general writing software.
    7. Drag the two files (MSB0X-FW.BIN, MSB0X-FW.ID) and drop them to the folder of CD Drive that opened at step 6.

    8. On the toolbar, click Burn to disc.
    9. Create the CD according to the on screen displayed message.
    10. The CD burning completes in about several minutes, after which the CD is ejected from the CD drive.

    For Windows® 7

    1. Extract downloaded zip file.

    3. A pop up window is displayed when CD-R is detected by the computer.

    5. Select With a CD/DVD player

      Note: When you select ”Like a USB flash drive”, the upgrade CD does not work.

    6. Drag the two files(MSB0X-FW.BIN, MSB0X-FW.ID) and drop them to the folder of CD Drive that opened at step 5.
