The audio system cannot connect via Bluetooth even after it was paired before

    If this issue occurs, delete the Bluetooth pairing information from the connected device, and perform a pairing again. The following shows the procedures when you connect an iPhone, Android smartphone or Walkman:

    For iPhone

    Note: For details about the iPhone settings, refer to the product manual or support page.

    1. Turn off the system (MHC-xx).
    2. On the iPhone screen, delete the pairing information of the system. For detailed procedure, refer to the How to delete the Bluetooth information from a device article.
      Note: If the system does not appear on the connected device, skip this step.
    3. Press the POWER button to turn on the system.
      Note: If SONY DEMO appears on the display, the system is in demo mode. Press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears, and then press the POWER button again to turn the system on.
    4. Press the FUNCTION repeatedly until BLUETOOTH appears on the display.
    5. Hold down BLUETOOTH/PAIRING on the system for more than 3 seconds until PAIRING flashes on the display.
    6. On the iPhone, turn off the BLUETOOTH feature, and turn it on again.
    7. Tap the system model name which appears in the OTHER DEVICES menu.
      Notes:
      • If a passkey is required, enter 0000.
      • The passkey may be called passcode, PIN code, PIN number, or password.
    8. You can confirm that the system has successfully paired with iPhone when the system model name is listed in the MY DEVICES menu, showing the Connected status.

    For Android smartphone or Walkman

    Note: For details about the Android smartphone or Walkman settings, refer to the product manual or support page.

    1. Turn off the system (MHC-xx).
    2. On the smartphone or Walkman screen, delete the pairing information of the system. For detailed procedure, refer to the How to delete the Bluetooth information from a device article.
      Note: If the system does not appear on the connected device, skip this step.
    3. Press the POWER button to turn on the system.
      Note: If SONY DEMO appears on the display, the system is in demo mode. Press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears, and then press the POWER button again to turn the system on.
    4. Press the FUNCTION repeatedly until BLUETOOTH appears on the display.
    5. Hold down BLUETOOTH/PAIRING on the system for more than 3 seconds until PAIRING flashes on the display.
    6. On the smartphone or Walkman screen, turn off the BLUETOOTH feature, and turn it on again.
    7. Tap the system model name which appears in the Available devices menu.
      Notes:
      • If the system model name does not appear, tap the MoreRefresh.
      • If a passkey is required, enter 0000.
      • The passkey may be called passcode, PIN code, PIN number, or password.
    8. Follow any on-screen instructions.
    9. You can confirm that the system has successfully paired with your smartphone or Walkman when the system model name is listed in the Paired devices menu.
