Screen reader works by vocalizing information on the TV screen, such as the program guide and setting screen. In order to use the screen reader function, an Internet connection is necessary.
Notes:
- The screen reader function is available only for focus points and some texts.
- The screen reader function is available only for some areas and languages.
- Whether a given app is available with the Screen reader function depends on the app.
- As of February 2020, YouTube™ is available with the Screen reader function. This specification may change without notice.
- When the Screen reader function is set to ON, some edit options, including Move and Hide in Inputs, might not work.
- When the Screen reader function is set to ON, some of the Quick Settings edit options might not work.
- For eARC supported models, when Screen reader is activated, eARC mode will be set to Off.
- The Accessibility shortcut function can switch to either enable or disable the Screen reader. Refer to Accessibility shortcut for applicable products.
- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- Select Settings and press the Enter button. The location of Settings depends on the Android OS version.

- Android 9 and Android 8.0: The Settings icon is located at the upper right corner of the Home menu. Press and hold the Up arrow button for about three seconds, press and hold the Right arrow button for about two seconds to select Settings, and press the Enter button.
- Android 7.0: The Settings icon is located at the lower left corner of the Home menu. Press and hold the Down arrow button for about three seconds, press and hold the Left arrow button for about two seconds to select Settings, and press the Enter button.
- For Android 9 only: Press the Down arrow button to select Device Preferences and press the Enter button.
- Press the Down arrow button to select Accessibility and press the Enter button.
- Press the Down arrow button to select Screen reader and press the Enter button.
- Select Enable and press the Enter button.
- Select OK and press the Enter button.
- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- Select Settings and press the Enter button. The location of Settings depends on the Android OS version.

- In order to stop the Screen reader, press the Enter button when you hear "Enable, On". It will switch the Screen reader setting to Off.
- When you hear "OK", press the Enter button to stop the Screen reader.
- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- Select Settings and press the Enter button. The location of Settings depends on the Android OS version.

- Press the HOME button on the remote control.
- Select Settings and press the Enter button. The location of Settings depends on the Android OS version.
